I have a profound love of storytelling and coming from a family of raconteurs has only encouraged this affinity. It is this passion that led me to become a theatrical artist—a profession that allows me the opportunity to tell stories through the comedic or dramatic, plays or musicals, and to contribute to the presentation of those stories through the performing and directorial arts.
Bringing stories to life, both old and new, through performances that resonate with audiences long after the curtain falls, is its own form of magic. The physical proximity of the audience to the actors weaves an empathetic bond and brings a sense of humanity to the narrative that is otherwise absent. The performers and audience become travelers on a common journey. Together, they will experience and share the range of emotions woven into the story, as the words in the script are transformed into living, breathing works of art.
To create this captivating world on stage, every person involved in the show needs to work cohesively. As an artist, I have come to know and embrace the power of collaboration, and to appreciate how much is gained by always seeking to facilitate a working environment that is professional and compassionate. From the first day of rehearsal to the last curtain call, I make it a point of endeavoring to cultivate mutually supportive and enriching relationships with every member of the theatrical cast and crew.
The power of theatre to influence and change the world in a positive way is underappreciated. It offers audiences more than just a momentary reprieve from their individual reality. Theatre can bring comfort, joy, and hope to an audience, and it can also forge a common bond between the ideologically diverse and even antagonistic constituencies. As a theatre artist, my goal is to contribute to this positive force for good by continually improving my skills, and using these skills to entertain, communicate, educate and inspire.
